Bruce Cohn is a former Staten Islander, who has been taking photographs since age 11, then exploring the negative/positive process, and making prints taken with the family camera. Working in the darkroom today gives him that same satisfying direct connection with the black and white image.

His interest continued and after graduating from Pratt Institute he worked as a freelance wedding photographer and videographer.  During his 35 year career as a NYC teacher, he taught photography at a Staten Island middle school. He is currently a member of the Creative Photographers Guild, Staten Island, and a board member and volunteer at the Alice Austen House Museum.

Bruce has exhibited at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Tottenville Public Library, and CPG Gallery in Staten Island and at the Michael Ingbar Gallery, Umbrella Arts Gallery, and Fountain House Gallery in Manhattan.

His photos have been published in various magazines (Metropolis, NY Times City Home), the Staten Island Advance, and commercial brochures.

He continues to follow his passion for photographing people and cultures, throughout the U.S., in Argentina, Morocco, Greece, India and recently, New Mexico.
